CREWE
This is a very new venture for us as it combines a large number of record/CD stalls with a similar number of Guitar stalls. The event is held in the main Conference Centre of the Manchester Metropolitan University Campus on Crewe Green Road. The Centre itself is a superb venue with lots of space and is well lit and bright. The stage is also used to good effect by the guitar collectors and dealers.
The venue, which is only a short walk from the Railway Station, has a cafeteria that does a superb breakfast, a licensed bar, as well as a free water drinks machine.
Several hundred collectors attended our first Fair here and dealers reported healthy sales. We delivered some 5000 leaflets to many shops, Tourist Information Offices, Libraries etc to promote this event. The next Fair on July 6th is already full. We intend to run a similar campaign of leafletting again. Besides the selling of records we noticed one or two well-known recording artists browsing the stalls and also had the pleasure of hearing some great guitar playing. Stalls £20
